Schoolhouse Farms 1862

Berwick, Maine

Get to Know us!
SchoolHouse Farms, LLC began offering direct from the farm to consumer agricultural products in the fall of 2016. All products are grown and processed on the farm. All of our farm products are non-GMO: gourmet popcorns and oils, birdseed and wildlife feed, and distillation grains. You should know where the food you eat comes from. Each container is labeled with GPS coordinates so you can pull it up yourself to see where it was grown. You will notice there is a Maine address tied into our business. This address is the location of the home office and where online orders are shipped out from. The 600 acre farm is fully located in NW Ohio!

Our name is derived from the one room Frysinger School located on Davis Farm property outside Rockford, OH. The school was built in 1862 during the height of the American Civil War and was closed on the eve of World War II in 1939. Farmer Vaughn's Great Grandmother attended the one room schoolhouse during it's Prime. In 1975 Farmer Vaughn's dad, Lowell, purchased the school to restore it and that location became the home base for the farm.

About Farmer Vaughn
Vaughn is a 7th Generation farmer in what was once the Northwest Territory of the newly formed United States of America and now the State of Ohio. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a degree in chemical engineering and holds an MBA from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and has worked extensively around the globe in North Africa, The Far East, India, Australia, South America, Europe and the Artic Regions of North America. During this time he appreciated more and more his time on the land. In 2016 he made a decision to leave the busy life of traveling and pursue this dream full time back on the family farm.
